Meet the Founder
The first time I walked down to the shore, I didn’t say much.
I remember pulling a chair close to the water and just sitting there, watching the lake move, listening to the quiet power of it. Lake Superior has a way of slowing you down. It doesn’t ask for attention. It commands respect.
I found myself coming back to that same spot again and again. Not to do anything in particular, just to be there. To think. To notice how the light changed, how the wind came off the water, how small everything else felt in comparison. It didn’t take long to realize this was a place meant to be shared.
Boathouse Bay grew from that feeling.
The idea wasn’t to build something loud or imposing, but something that belonged here—something that felt settled into the land rather than placed on top of it. A place where families could gather, where mornings start slow, where stories get told and retold, and where time stretches in the best way.
Quality mattered from the beginning. Materials chosen to stand up to North Shore weather. Craftsmanship meant to age well. Decisions made with the long view in mind—so what’s built here feels just as solid decades from now as it does today. Not as a burden to the land, but as a steward of it.
This isn’t about trends or quick impressions. It’s about longevity. About creating something that lasts long enough for traditions to form, for memories to pile up, for people to come back year after year and say, this place still feels right.
I still find myself down by the shore, sitting quietly, taking it all in. And every time I do, I’m reminded why this place matters and why it’s worth sharing.

Rooted in the north, built for the future
Boathouse Bay is a premier lakefront community on the North Shore of Lake Superior, located just off Scenic Highway 61 in Silver Bay, Minnesota. Thoughtfully planned and carefully sited, this lakeside development pairs refined design with a deep respect for the surrounding landscape, offering a sense of privacy, permanence, and long-term value along one of Minnesota’s most remarkable shorelines.
Set among boreal forest and expansive lake views, Boathouse Bay was founded in 2021 with a clear vision for modern North Shore living—where architecture is guided by its environment, community is intentionally scaled, and the enduring beauty of Lake Superior remains central to everyday life.
